  • What is Guerrilla Tours?

Guerrilla Tours is a company based in New York City that specializes in unique walking tour experiences given by trained actors.  All of our guides are licensed by the city of New York.  We provide the exciting history of the locations visited by using elements of scenework, characterization, sketch comedy, and just plain old good story-telling!  Our tours succeed at being both entertaining and educational.

    Who are you people?

We're a group of actors "living the dream" in New York City who decided to get certified as licensed tour guides and bring our story-telling abilities to the history that we are passionate about.

How did the name Guerrilla Tours come to exist?

The idea for the name came from the fact that we, as tour guides, would be leading a small group of people around one of the largest and busiest cities in the world.  Our small army taking on the Big Bad Apple, on foot, in hand-to-hand combat - guerrilla warfare style!  Sounds exciting, huh?

What's the deal with the monkey?

He's our mascot - "The Guerrilla Gorilla".  He was designed by a very talented actor/artist named Justin "Squigs" Robertson.  Please stop by his website at www.squigsink.com to see more of his fantastic work.

What is a tour + show experience?

We offer a special experience that combines elements of traditional walking tours with a scripted show.  The "show" takes place right on the street, in front of you, and involves at least 2 performers/tour guides.  We are very proud to offer these unique, one of-a-kind alternatives to traditional walking tours.  It was a natural addition to our tour roster given the fact that our company is made up of some of the most talented performers in NYC.

    How can I purchase tickets?

The best way to purchase tickets is on-line.  Click here to purchase tickets.

To make a reservation - Call  212-252-2080 and leave a detailed message with your name, telephone number, number of people in your party, and the date and time of the tour you are interested in taking.  Someone will call you back within 24 hours to confirm your reservation.  You can pay your Tour Guide before the tour starts - cash only (exact change please)

Guerrilla Tours strongly recommends purchasing tickets in advance or making a reservation.  There are no guarantees for walk-ups.  The only guarantee is with a pre-purchased ticket or a confirmed reservation.

    I purchased tickets. Now what?

You just meet us in Shubert Alley at least 10 minutes before your tour starts and be prepared to have a blast!

    Where is Shubert Alley?

It's the Alley next to the Shubert theatre.  The Shubert theatre is located on 44th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue.  You can't miss it - it's pretty big.  But if you're more of a visual person, click here to see a map.

When you reach Shubert Alley, just look for an incredibly attractive person holding a Guerrilla Tours sign.

    How long are your tours?

Each tour varies in length and distance.  Check the Tour Descriptions page for exact information regarding the tour your are interested in taking.

    What should I wear?

Comfy walking shoes are a must!

If it's cold -  bring a jacket, hat, gloves, etc.

If it's hot - don't bring a jacket, hat, gloves, etc.

If they're calling for rain - bring an umbrella.

    And don't forget your camera!

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring your conformation code given to you when you purchased your tickets.  Also, you might want to bring bottled water or a camera.  They'll be lots of photo opportunities.

Will I be able to keep up?

Sure.  We move at a moderate pace but our motto is 'leave no man (or woman) behind'.

    What if it's raining?

We give our tours rain or shine.  Many of our tour stops are indoors, underneath marquees, etc. and are out of the elements.  If there's a blizzard, or hurricane, or something equally as dangerous, and we have to cancel, you'll be given the option of re-booking or a  full refund.

Do you offer tours in other lanquages?

All of our experiences are performed in English only at this point.

Can I tip my tour guide?

Gratuities are not expected but are most certainly welcomed.
